Pedersoli Launches the Kodiak Survivalist Compact Express Rifle in .44 Magnum

Italian Firearms Group (IFG) is proud to announce the release of the Kodiak Survivalist, an all-new compact express rifle from Davide Pedersoli. 

Known for blending old-world detail with serious performance across its lineup, Pedersoli brings that same disciplined craftsmanship to a utility-driven concept, resulting in what might best be described as a “gentleman’s survival rifle.”

At the heart of the Kodiak Survivalist is its side-by-side barrel configuration, offering inherent safety and immediate second-shot capability, an advantage long appreciated by experienced hunters when speed and precision must work together. Traditionally, that kind of confidence comes with added bulk. Here, Pedersoli’s engineering focus was clear: preserve quick handling while keeping the rifle genuinely easy to carry. The result is a remarkably compact platform that still feels refined and ready for hard use.

Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, the Kodiak Survivalist delivers authoritative performance from a compact package, helped by the cartridge’s efficiency in shorter barrels. With an 18” barrel, 1:20” twist, and 6 grooves, the rifle is tuned for practical capability without the unnecessary weight. The rifle comes in at 6.17 lbs with an overall length of 34.25”, making it quick to mount, natural to point, and comfortable to carry.

Pedersoli didn’t sacrifice elegance to get there. A color-case hardened frame nods to traditional gunmaking while reinforcing long-term durability, while the oil-finished walnut stock adds both class and a confident, secure grip in demanding conditions.

For shooters who want modern flexibility with classic lines, the Kodiak Survivalist supports an optional Picatinny rail that integrates cleanly with the pre-drilled rib for optics use.
