In this section you will find some of the models used during the American Revolution. The Brown Bess and 1766 Charleville muskets were supplied to the English and French armies respectively. The 1795 Springfield and 1816 Harper's Ferry models, produced on American territory but clearly of European inspiration, remained active until the early years of the Civil War.
